Job satisfaction and work motivation

Now the question arises to what extent job satisfaction and work motivation are relevant for the employer. Studies show the direct influence of the individually perceived satisfaction on the respective performance . Interviews show that employees associated their highest performance with the highest level of satisfaction . Which direction of action exists remains uncertain, as both would be plausible. Satisfaction and motivation here have a large area of overlap. Above all, extrinsic factors form the framework and basis for satisfaction . If these are given, the intrinsic potential can unfold on a stable nutrient medium. It is only through intrinsic motivation that people experience an independent , authentic satisfaction that can serve as a vehicle for their performance . For this a so-called “person environment - fit ” must be given. As soon as personal goals, needs and motives match the work and task setting, intrinsic processes can arise. Short-term deviations from work requirements and motives are to be expected more often in everyday working life. To deal with them, employees need willpower . This now requires volitional strategies and skills . This includes, among other things, impulse suppression , emotion control and attention control , which are associated with a certain psychological effort . A work situation that permanently contradicts one's own intrinsic drives is therefore not recommended. As mentioned before, however, short-term deviations are normal and can train resilience and frustration tolerance to a healthy degree . Relaxation and activation procedures can also help improve volitional strategies and skills. Studies have shown that emotion and attention regulatory processes are much easier and faster in experienced meditators , as they can set and resolve their focus more consciously . The distance to destructive thoughts can be established much more easily through regular practice and thus the attention can be returned to the essentials . The process-oriented attitude plays an important role here. The actual process of what is happening and one's own activity is prioritized as an essential focus . The practitioner is completely absorbed in his work. In our advanced seminar you will get to know this interaction.
